"If you see my mother, or if you go to the judge or if you meet a priest, tell them that I am dying because I am a Christian."
...One of the agents (a boss) did not like that Isidore always tried to share with his fellow workers about how much Jesus and Mary loved them. The agent said, "You'll have the whole village praying and no one will want to work."
The agent demanded that Isidore throw away the brown Carmelite scapular that he wore around his neck as a sign that he belonged to Jesus and Mary. When Isidore refused to do this, he was badly beaten.
Isidore told the missionary priests who came to give him the Last Rites that he already forgave the man who hurt him, promising to pray for him.
"Certainly I will pray for him! When I am in Heaven, I shall pray for him very much!"
Isidore died from the beating on August 15, 1909 with a Rosary in his hand and wearing a brown scapular.

"She is lovable, faithful, constant. She will never let herself be outdone in love but will ever remain supreme. If you are in danger, she will hasten to free you.
If you are troubled, she will console you.
If you are sick, she will bring you relief.
If you are in need, she will help you. She does not look to see what kind of person you have been. She simply comes to a heart that wants to love her. She comes quickly and opens her merciful heart to you, embraces you, consoles and serves you. She will even be on hand to accompany you on the trip to eternity."

"In prayer the soul rises above life's sadnesses."
Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati
Pier Giorgio would wake up before anyone else in his family in order to bring flowers to "his Madonna" at the Shrine of Our Lady of Oropa, Italy. With the help of his friend, the family's faithful gardener, Pier Giorgio devised a system that would wake him up way before dawn without disturbing the rest of the household. The gardener would sound a special kind of an "alarm" consisting of one end of a rope tied around Pier Giorgio's fist and the other end running out of his bedroom window and into the gardener's little house. When it was time for Pier Giorgio to get up, the gardener simply tugged on the rope and it did the trick! Pier Giorgio would jump out of bed, dress in a hurry, grab his backpack, and then sneak out of the house by a side door. It usually took an hour to walk to the shrine where Pier Giorgio went to Mass, received Jesus in Holy Communion and then prayed at the main altar before an image of the Madonna. On the way home, he prayed the Rosary aloud and then would sing the litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary as the sun began rising in the east.
Pier Giorgio made Rosaries out of the seeds of a plant that grew in his family's garden and would give them away as gifts to his friends. It was his way of reminding them to pray and have a tender love for Mary. Years later, his best friend Marco Beltramo observed that, "The surest means by which Pier Giorgio achieved his union with the Lord Jesus, the secret of his spiritual perfection, was his total devotion to Mary."
"Do whatever He tells you." John 2:5
